‘CIRCLEMAKERS’ IN SUNDAY TIMES SUPPLEMENT - 18/06/2001
The Sunday Times’s internet supplement of 17th June, ‘Doors’, included yet another puff piece for the ‘Circlemakers’ sceptic web site, which seems to be the only cerealogical site ever mentioned in the press, due largely to its authors having good inside media connections. The article takes time out to get some insinuating jibes in about this year’s formations not appearing until after the Foot and Mouth crisis peak (failing to mention the late planting or that there have been even later circle seasons before now) and includes the usual hymns to the “ingenuity of the single-minded fellows who sneak out into fields in the dead of night”. It does, however, end with the let-out that the site “does not entirely debunk the possibility that, every so often, one of these babies really does come from outer space”…
