KERRY BLOWER shares her experiences of this summer’s crop circles and asks others to share theirs...


I would like to share three experiences that have happened this summer. I would love to hear from people who have had similar experiences.


1. THE TREE FORMATION, EAST FIELD, ALTON BARNES: JULY 2002

I couldn't sleep the night this pattern arrived and I was in our summerhouse in the garden. I lay in bed trying for hours to sleep, but to no avail. I lay there staring at a tapestry on the wall of a tree with big fruits that is between two crop circle plaques that I made a few years ago. I thought about the circles and how I always have odd things happen, even though I believe on the one hand that they are all man-made. I looked at the tree tapestry and thought about the musical I had been writing for the past eight years about the environment and talking trees. I eventually fell asleep. I was awakened by my mother telling me to put the TV on as they were showing a circle that had appeared in the East Field (which is my favourite field). We went to see what it was and it instantly reminded me of my tree tapestry and how I was thinking about it all night. It made shivers run up my spine. I am still on a high now thinking about it.


2. THE SPIRAL, WEST OVERTON HILL: JULY 2002

I felt restless one evening and needed to go and sit on the hill with my husband (we don't usually go out at night). We sat in the car with the weather quite cold and drizzly. We talked about the circles and how we would phone the police if we ever saw anyone making them. I said how much I would love to see one forming. We stayed there for approx one hour then came home. I went back there the following day and parked in exactly the same spot. I was so amazed when I looked out through the window and saw a huge circle in the field opposite. I couldn't believe it. It was almost like I had a calling to go there, but I never seem to acknowledge it. This has happened in the past also.


3. THE ‘NAUTILUS’, UNDER THE PEWSEY WHITE HORSE: JULY 2002

My mother has recently acquired a nice pair of earrings and I was taken by the shape of them. As I looked at them one day I thought of how they reminded me of the Julia Set crop circle that appeared a few years ago [1996]. I was shocked when I saw a similar pattern to the earring appear under the white horse within a few days. Well, what an amazing bunch of synchronicities from someone who is prepared to accept that they are all man-made. But for some strange reason the circles just won’t leave me alone.

I would also like to point out the signature (small spiral on outer edge of shell) is at the same place as a mark that is on the earring. I find it a very strange similarity indeed.
